On 7 September, Duane, one of our Account Managers at Sprint, took part in the Le Tour De Gosh charity bike ride, raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. His target was £950 and the challenge was to ride from Chalkwall to Shoebury in Essex– back and fourth 20 times, which adds up to a 90 mile ride.

Duane said:

” I did not train at all for this and even had a buffet the night before, using the excuse that I needed to carb up for the day ahead. I felt good on the morning and had all my energy sachets on me to power through the day. Two laps in I suffered a puncture and had to walk a mile back and then suffered a slow puncture 1/2 mile back out which resulted in another walk back to base. I thought my day was over until I was rescued by a kind soul who handed me a spare inner tube. From here I was off!”

Despite the set back and then having to pump the tyre up consistently throughout the course, Duane completed the course and the event in a very respectable 7 hours and 46 minutes. A personal achievement for Duane who represented the Sprint Group for such a great cause and managing to reach his target raising a fantastic £967.50 for the charity.
